Ducks player look: Matt Beleskey

I thought it would be cool if every once in a while i'd take a closer look at some Ducks player and first, i thought i would chat a bit about Matt Beleskey.

#39 Matt Beleskey (6'0", 204, Jun 7th 1988, Age: 21, Contract: Cap Hit: $666,667 (RFA) --> End: 2011

Stats from 2009-2010 Season: 36GP 6G 4A 10P +/- -7 19PIM 79Shots 14:06TOI/G

First thing you notice when watching Matt play, is that he works hard every single shift and it's not because he's trying impress the coaching staff. No, it's because that's how Beleskey plays the game and it's definitely one of Beleskey strenghts on the ice. He also isn't shy to play physical style of hockey, seeing as he's thrown 60 hits already in 36 games. Beleskey is used to going hard into to the corners to play the puck and it's one of the reason's why he has seen ice-time on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf & Corey Perry.

Beleskey also has a very good and hard shot, as he recently registered a 98 mph shot at the Ducks practice. He's probably not the fastest skater around, but he definitely ain't slow either and he is surprisingly strong on skates.

Personnally i think, that Beleskey has shown with his play this season that he has pretty good offensive instincts, all while being defensivly responsible. I look forward to seeing how Matt Beleskey's career with the Ducks turns out, and if his play this season is any indication, i think we can expect some pretty good things from the 21-year old Windsor, Ontario native.
